The effects that essential oils have on our health and well-being are understated. To be outright blunt, much of our medicine is copied from naturally occurring plant compounds. There are a lot of studies that confirm the digestive and antimicrobial benefits of rosemary, spearmint, basil and fennel essential-oils. I’m going to cite just a few.
One study indicated that organic Spearmint Oil relieves symptoms of indigestion and GI upset, and Spearmint oil has demonstrated anti-inflammatory, antifungal and antibacterial properties. Furthermore, this herb also has significant antioxidant effects in addition to restorative and stimulative in terms of digestion (Muhammad H.et al 2018).
You won’t be surprised to learn that an analysis of organic fennel seed oil showed that there are at least 23 compounds with significant amounts of total phenolic and flavonoid contents that help ward off free radical damage as well as pathogenic strains of bacteria. Organic Fennel seed oil’s powerful antiseptic, detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, and purifying properties have demonstrated that it’s conducive for overall GI Health and digestion.
What can you say about organic Rosemary Leaf Oil that hasn’t been said? It helps to improve gut health by reducing inflammation, relieving abdominal pain, and protecting the immune system. Moreover, rosemary can stimulate circulation, detoxify the body, and provide antioxidant support (Goncalves et al. 2018); (Lucarini et al, 2013). Rosemary is rich in nutrients that help boost your immunity with a high reserve of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants- notably phenolic compounds (Andrade et al 2018).
For hundreds of years organic basil leaf oil has provided potent synergistic antibacterial and antifungal properties. Organic basil leaf oil also has significant anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and digestive regulatory properties. (Bendec et al. 2007).
Essential oils are so powerful that they are almost always mixed with a carrier oil.
It’s reasonable to say that you’d choose the best carrier oil for the job, right? Of course. One oil that’s been getting a lot of attention lately is sea buckthorn oil. That’s because it is nutritionally dense, and has a vast array of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, anti-oxidants, and phytochemicals… oh, and it has a complete fatty acid profile that includes omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9.
If you’re looking for an ingestible carrier oil for your essential oils, then milligram for milligram, sea buckthorn oil is the undisputed heavy weight champion…
If any of the benefits that I mentioned sounds like something you need, consider Physicians Trust Bowel Formula. I’ve tried it, and I’ll spare you the details of what came out of me…I’m just glad it’s out of me ;) They’ve done a really good job and it’s worth it if you feel like you want to thoroughly clean your gastro-intestinal “house” and start priming it for whatever “they” say is coming at us this fall.
